Hureaulite
It is not often that we see stunning specimens of formerly rare species in a collector size but this is a rich and colorful example of this rare secondary pegmatite phosphate from Brazil. Hureaulite is a hydrated manganese phosphate, an uncommon mineral in pegmatites produced as a secondary alteration product of primary phosphates like Triphylite and this piece from the Cigana Claim is excellent! It is a large cluster of glistening, translucent, red-orange, well-formed crystals and crystal groups to 1 cm. These are huge for distinct textbook xls of this species. Crystals cover almost the entire piece from front to back. It is actually a large and excellent specimen for the species with large crystals. Ex. Alvaro Lucio collection, kept in his personal collection for decades and likely from a 1990s find.
