Description
A fine, attractive specimen of gemmy and lustrous, apple-green Andradite var. Demantoid Garnets aesthetically scattered on starkly contrasting fibrous serpentinite matrix from a classic Italian locality - the Malenco Valley. Individual crystals reach about 6 mm, and their luster and clarity is excellent. Interestingly, the edges of the dodecahedrons vary from sharp to beveled to rounded, which adds to the aesthetics, I think. Demantoids on matrix are rare and prized among the Garnets, and those from Val Malenco are desirable and hard to find. The COLOR on these is the best, bright and open green hue.
