A shockingly large example of this rare species related to astrophyllite, from what has surely become the best locality for crystals of Niobophyllite. This very strange massif in Malawi has produced some awesome specimens of many very rare minerals. I had seen a trickle of niobos in the past, but nothing of this magnitude, and the cluster is really actually quite attractive with a shimmering brown-red hue. A small zircon crystal crowns the base.
