This is a classic association for Agrigento Province, with waxy, lemon-yellow to amber-orange Native Sulphur crystallized upon a thin bed of tiny pointed rhombic Calcite crystals, but with discrete, glassy tabular crystals of Celestine (to 1.1 cm in length) also sat upon the Calcite bed. Underneath the Calcite bed is an earlier generation of yellow Native Sulphur. The larger Native Sulphur crystals on the top initially look a like haphazard, but upon closer inspection their faces allign and reflect together as the specimen is tilted. Some of the larger, orange crystals are overgrown by brighter, lemon-yellow, smaller Native Sulphur crystals, some of which have an almost molten, waxy texture. The back and side of the specimen are fractured surfaces, but the top display face is really nice.
