Not only are the pale emerald-green truncated octahedral (cubo-octahedra) Fluorite crystals from the relatively new discovery (2024) the remote Milpo mine in the Atacocha mining district, Pasco province, Peru unique in their combination of shape and colour, but when combined with a bright golden Pyrite backdrop they are simply majestic in the world of Fluorite collecting. This stunning miniature specimen from this find has a bed of small, but well-defined, bright golden 'curved' cubic Pyrite crystals upon which three green cubo-octahedral Fluorite crystals sit slightly intergrown for display. Neither of the Fluorite crystals are completely perfect, with either a slight chip to one corner of the main crystal, or the rear missing from the crystal overhanging one side, but they display very well - the contrast between gold and green being striking and very pretty. The largest Fluorite crystal reaches over 2 cm across and all are nicely transparent through their glassy green faces. A modern day Peruvian classic.
