The combination of cream coloured, slightly pearlescent, rhombic crystals of Dolomite (to 7 mm on edge) lightly dispersed across the glossy black surface of a 1 cm thick bed Sphalerite crystals on host rock, makes for a really great cabinet-sized display specimen of the paragenesis of the Roggenbach vein at Schauinsland, Freiburg Region, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. This is not only a very pretty piece, but is extremely fine, both in terms of its exceptional damage-free state as well as overall aesthetic appeal in comparison to the limited number of other specimens seen from this old mining area.
