Dimensions: 8 x 5.5 x 7 cm
Location: Wagholi Quarry, Pune, Maharashtra Province, India
Wagholi, in the Deccan Traps, is the world's locality for cavansite. Specimens form in basalt cavities and here rest on micro-crystallized stilbite.
This isolated, perfectly spherical Cavansite stands out harmoniously against the matrix. The crystallization is remarkably regular: well-defined radial crystals with sharp outlines and a deep blue color. (diameter 2cm)
The contrast in shape and color with the white stilbite gives this piece a lot of aesthetic appeal.
Dimensions without the acrylic base, which is supplied with the mineralogical specimen.
The mineral is not glued to the base (flexible sealant).
