Dimensions: 8.8 x 3.6 x 8.3cm
Location: Wagholi Quarry, Pune, Maharashtra Province, India
Wagholi, in the Deccan Traps, is the world's locality for cavansite. Specimens form in basalt cavities and here rest on microcrystalline stilbite. Several bright blue clusters are arranged distinctly and harmoniously on the matrix (crystallization diameter: 1.8 cm). The quality is excellent: clear radial crystals, dense color. The overall effect is very aesthetically pleasing, even more so in person than in the photograph.
Dimensions without the acrylic base, which is supplied with the mineralogical specimen.
The mineral is not glued to the base (flexible sealant).
