Dimensions: 5.8 x 4.6 x 5.4cm
Location: Wagholi Quarry, Pune, Maharashtra Province, India
Wagholi, in the Deccan Traps, is the world's locality for cavansite. Specimens form in basalt cavities and rest on microcrystalline stilbite.
This 3.3 x 2.3 cm crystal is remarkable for its size, but above all for its quality: intense color, extreme brilliance, almost gem-like. It represents the very best that can be found in the deposit. Photography struggles to capture this level of quality. An excellent collector's piece.
Dimensions without the acrylic base, which is supplied with the mineralogical specimen.
The mineral is not glued to the base (flexible sealant).
