Very choice brown opaque semi lustrous crystal of monazite-Ce measuring 1.2 cm on edge standing up free from matrix. In excellent condition all around.Iveland is a municipality in Agder, Norway, renowned for its rich granitic pegmatites that have yielded a vast array of rare minerals. Among these, monazite-(Ce) occurs as distinct, well-developed orange-brown crystals embedded within the feldspar and biotite matrix of the local quarries.
