A remarkable natural twinned black tourmaline specimen from Afghanistan, featuring two double-terminated crystals with exceptional preservation and fascinating hidden color.
In normal lighting, the crystals appear deep black with strong, well-defined natural vertical striations. When illuminated from behind, however, the translucent crystals reveal beautiful blue, purple, and violet colors throughout their interiors, creating an entirely different appearance.
The specimen consists of two naturally twinned black tourmaline crystals, and both crystals are double terminated. Even more importantly for collectors, both crystals are free of damage, preserving their natural terminations and crystal structure beautifully.
The blue, purple, and violet coloration seen under backlighting is natural to the specimen. No artificial coloring has been added.
