Thick lustrous deep green prismatic twinned crystal of actinolite. In good condition, this is quite good for the species.The Ijaka area in the Kongwa district of Dodoma, Tanzania, does not function as a formally dated commercial mine with strict historical opening and closing milestones, but rather as an active specimen-producing terrain. Geologically, it is situated within the Precambrian metamorphic basement of central Tanzania, characterized by complex crystalline terrains of the East African Orogen and ancient mobile belts containing high-grade metamorphic rocks. The local geology features distinctive lithologies that yield well-formed mineral specimens, notably dark green actinolite crystals and sharp metallic magnetite octahedra hosted within pale matrix materials shaped by ancient regional tectonic and metamorphic reworking.
