The remote Nujiang Valley (Gaoligong Shan) in Nujiang Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province produced the first really fine Topaz crystals seen in China, starting at the turn of the 21st century. The best crystals are exceptionally gemmy, transparent, and display stunning crystal faces like facets on a cut gemstone, but the flow of specimens was short-lived. This superb cabinet sized piece from the finds of the early 2000s, features a 4 cm tall, water clear Topaz crystal of the highest quality, rising up from a Feldspar matrix with acicular Actinolite and unusually crystallized Smoky Quartz crystals in association. A really high quality Chinese Topaz specimen.
