A stalactitic grouping of quartz, this hosting large pseudo-cubic glassy almost gemmy crystals of fluorapophyllite measuring to 3.0 cm in size. Minor stilbite is present. Complete all around and in good condition.The Jalgaon district in Maharashtra, India, is primarily known for commercial basalt quarrying operations (such as the Savda quarries) that have been active for decades primarily supporting regional infrastructure development, alongside significant episodic specimen mining that expanded notably from the late 20th century onward. Geologically, the region sits within the Deccan Traps, a massive continental flood basalt province formed by intense volcanic activity approximately 65 million years ago. The local tholeiitic lava flows contain extensive gas cavities and vesicles that have been hydrothermally altered and filled through multi-stage secondary mineralization, producing world-renowned specimens of zeolites (such as stilbite and mordenite), spectacular green and clear apophyllite crystals, and multidimensional calcites.
