Classic Brazilian specimen with radiating golden crystals of rutile coming off of platy metallic hematite. In great condition.Novo Horizonte, located in the state of Bahia, Brazil, is a renowned mineral locality situated within the Paramirim region of the northern Sao Francisco Craton. Geologically, the area is characterized by Proterozoic metavolcanic and metasedimentary sequences of the Rio dos Remedios Group, which formed through ancient rifting and subsequent tectonic inversion. Mineralogically, Novo Horizonte has gained international acclaim among collectors for producing exceptional, world-class mineral specimens, most notably striking crystal clusters of hematite, rutile, and quartz. Historically, small-scale mining and artisanal prospecting in the region expanded significantly during the latter half of the twentieth century, transforming the area into a celebrated source for pristine, highly aesthetic collector minerals.
