Amethyst (Trigonic) Reserve Crystallization w/Record-Keeper points
Amethyst crystal from Brazil is quite unique from a new and surprising find from a few years ago in the Ceara State of Brazil. It is a large and incredibly sculptural crystal with a lovely purple color, a perfect termination, and a tapered shape with fine and very intriguing etchings. The bottom two-thirds of the crystal shows dissolution features and preserve the Quartz's crystallinity as it tapers to a wedge-like point. The upper third of the crystal is the termination that does show distinct pyramidal faces, and this too shows some etching in the central portions of the faces, some of them going deep into the crystal.
The coloration is varied from a deeper purple in the core of the crystal in the lower portion becoming a lighter purple at the outer edges, and the termination, the most important part, shows intense purple at the intersections of the pyramidal faces and much lighter at the interior, etched portions of these faces. This preferential etching is characteristic of this find, and this one was one of the best available with the most profound form and coloration. The crystal commands attention for its size and color. This is truly unlike Amethyst from anywhere in the world. There is no damage or contact anywhere.
