My wife and I travel the world to experience exotic mineral locations from Tanzania (Aftermath Mine) for Tanzanites to Navajan, Spain for Pyrites to Hallelujah Junction for Quartz etc. We look at the world's greatest specimens and try to find something similar (but not at the same high price). We enjoy the hunt to find great specimens at 'reasonable' prices. We subscribe to Bob Jones's philosophy detailed in his book 'The Frugal Collector'. It's not about being able to afford the price of a great specimen, it's about 'the hunt'.
