EMERALD and QUARTZ

This elegant specimen showcases a vivid emerald crystal prominently exposed on a predominantly white calcite matrix, accompanied by several smaller emerald crystals that enhance both the mineralogical interest and overall aesthetics. The principal emerald exhibits a well-defined hexagonal prismatic habit with a lustrous surface, excellent transparency, and rich green color. Its termination is pinacoidal with well-developed beveled edges, preserving exceptional sharpness with only a minute contact on one of the beveled edges—an insignificant imperfection that does little to detract from the crystal's outstanding presentation.

A particularly noteworthy feature is the presence of a highly transparent, optical-quality Lemurian quartz crystal perched on the upper left portion of the matrix. Its exceptional clarity and glassy luster create a striking contrast with the surrounding calcite while providing an elegant balance to the vivid emerald crystals. The association of emerald, calcite, and quartz reflects the classic mineral assemblage of Colombian emerald deposits and adds both geological significance and visual appeal.
