Calcite from UK, England, Rookhope, Frazer's Hush Mine

An attractive specimen from the renowned Frazer’s Hush Mine, featuring a dense covering of translucent white calcite crystals intergrown with sparkling quartz. The calcite occurs as numerous blocky to elongated crystals.

Fine drusy quartz is present throughout the specimen. Many of the calcite crystals display a soft vitreous lustre and subtle translucency, catching and reflecting light beautifully.

A classic mineral association from the Northern Pennine Orefield. A fine cabinet-sized piece with excellent display qualities, showcasing the attractive calcite and quartz mineralisation for which Weardale is well known.
