Fine thumbnail specimen of well crystallized metallic dyscrasite. In great condition all around. The Bouismas Mine, situated within the renowned Bou Azzer mining district of the Central Anti-Atlas Mountains in Morocco, is an underground operation with a history tied to the region's mid-twentieth century and later industrial and artisanal extraction of cobalt, nickel, and associated rare elements. Geologically, the deposit is hosted within complex Precambrian serpentinites and fault-fill vein systems associated with the major Pan-African suture zone, where hydrothermal activity driven by multi-phase tectonic events deposited an array of metallic ores. Dyscrasite is a natural silver antimonide mineral that typically forms in hydrothermal veins associated with other silver and cobalt-nickel ores. Mineralogically, it crystallizes in the orthorhombic system and is recognized for its metallic silver-white to dark gray color, often tarnishing upon exposure, and it has gained fame among advanced specimen collectors for occasionally producing sharp, well-formed crystals and crystalline masses in localities like the mines of Morocco.
