Emerald on Calcite

A specimen characterized by a single emerald crystal with a prismatic habit, naturally positioned on a translucent to transparent rhombohedral calcite matrix. The crystal displays an intense, uniform green color saturation, accompanied by remarkable gem-quality transparency that allows its internal clarity to be clearly appreciated.

From a crystallographic standpoint, the crystal is distinguished by an exceptionally clean and well-defined pinacoidal termination, bordered by small bevels corresponding to the development of a second generation of crystal faces. The prism faces preserve natural growth markings that reflect patterns of hydrothermal crystallization.

The combination with the white calcite rhombohedra at the base creates a striking contrast in both color and texture. The principal crystal, standing free and naturally well-positioned on the matrix, gives the specimen a refined presence and outstanding aesthetic quality.
