A loose gem terminated crystal of colorless quartz, this with phantom crystal inclusions lined by green fuchsite. Tiny micro-damage present, this still in good condition.Ihovitra, situated within the rugged Itremo Massif region of Ambatofinandrahana, Madagascar, is a notable geological and mineralogical locality set inside the central highlands of the island. Geologically, the area is dominated by the Itremo Group, a thick sequence of Neoproterozoic metasedimentary rocks consisting largely of quartzites, marbles, and schists that were folded, metamorphosed, and intruded during the Pan-African Orogeny. Mineralogically, the local hydrothermal pocket systems have produced world-class specimens of colorless, highly transparent, glassy quartz crystals. These exceptional crystals frequently feature distinct internal phantom outlines and delicate internal coatings lined with mint-green chromium-bearing muscovite, known as fuchsite. Historically, these striking green-fuchsite-included quartz specimens first began emerging from small-scale artisanal mining operations in Ihovitra around 2010, quickly gaining international renown among mineral collectors for their unique aesthetic before supplies slowed down significantly in subsequent years.
