Calcite ps. Cerussite with Dioptase from Namibia, Oshikoto Region, Tsumeb
Calcite ps. Cerussite with Dioptase
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia
7.7 x 3.9 x 3.6 cm
Sharp, angular matrix specimen coated in a drusy crust of white calcite
pseudomorph after an earlier generation of cerussite, retaining that species’ blocky, faceted crystallization pattern. A fine, even dusting of pale mint-green dioptase micro-crystals covers the ridgelines and high points of the crust, concentrated along the edges. Crisp geometric form with subtle, well-distributed color contrast.
