This stunning small miniature specimen from Charcas at San Luis Potosi, Mexico shows the exceptional colour and remarkably sharp bladed crystal form of the monoclinic calcium magnesium borate carbonate species Borcarite seen in new finds. The quality of these crystals and their aesthetics in specimens far exceeds anything seen before in this extremely rare species from the polymetallic skarn deposit. This choice piece features very glassy triangular blades of Borcarite reaching 6 mm in length rising up from a dark coloured bed of inclusion-rich Borcarite with tiny garnet crystals.
