Azurite from New Cornelia Mine, Ajo, Arizona, USA

Jim & Dawn Minette Collection Jim and Dawn Minette put together arguably the finest thumbnail mineral collection ever. We acquired the collection in 2008, but some fine specimens fell through the cracks and are still available. Keep in mind that Minette thumbnails often pushed the size envelope so they may not fit exactly into a 1 inch cube. I’ve always been a fan of good Ajo azurite. I like the vibrant blue color and blocky bladed form. They usually occur without associated minerals so this one on malachite really stands out.
