Polished slab of plume agate from the Wingate Pass area to the west of Death Valley, on what is the China Lake Naval Weapons Center. This locality has been closed to collecting for many decades. This material is often referred to as "Death Valley Plume" or "Wingate Pass Agate" and is considered one of the finest types of plume agates among collectors, and is only found in old collections nowadays. Measures 77 mm x 39 mm x 6 mm (7.7 cm x 3.9 cm x 0.6 cm). ex Christopher Wentzell collection.
