Two large chunks of gem grade precious light base ("white") opal from the Coober Pedy Opal field in South Australia; largest piece measures 2.25 inches across while the other measures 2.0 inches across, shown partially wet to better display the color. Pieces of this quality are not normally preserved as specimens and are usually cut up for gemstones. ex Christopher Wentzell collection.
