Beautiful specimen of precious opal ("boulder opal") in ironstone matrix from the Quilpie Opal fields of Australia. The opal has a blue glow and is primarily blue/green with slight pink play of color ("POC"). This is a thin seam of precious opal in matrix and the surface of the opal has been polished. Weighs 1.5 pounds. 4 inches x 3 inches. ex Christopher Wentzell collection.
