Brilliant, lustrous emerald‑green dioptase crystals sit dramatically on sharp quartz crystals from the historic Sanda Mine in the Republic of the Congo. While the surface dioptase is already exceptional, the true rarity of this piece lies inside the quartz itself — vivid, bright green dioptase crystals are included within the quartz.

Inclusions of dioptase inside quartz are extraordinarily uncommon in nature, and the geological conditions required to form them are still not fully understood. This specimen is a rich, and visually striking example of this phenomenon — the kind of piece that stands out in any advanced collection. Copper‑species inclusions in quartz are rare from any locality, and dioptase inclusions are among the rarest of all.
