A clean Etched, transparent aquamarine with a classic icy character and strong visual presence.
This aquamarine specimen from Brazil displays the classic “ice-like” character associated with etched crystals formed in kaolinite-rich environments. It is a complete floater, naturally developed on all sides, with no visible points of attachment.
The crystal is fully transparent, showing a clean, glassy body with a soft, light blue coloration and excellent luster. Natural etching and subtle dissolution features give the surface a sculptural, frost-like texture, creating a striking contrast with the internal clarity. Light passes effortlessly through the piece, enhancing its delicate color and reinforcing its crisp, icy appearance.
The form is well-balanced and visually engaging, with nice facets and gently irregular contours that provide interest from every angle. with some minor damages on the backside but overal verry clean. The combination of smooth reflective faces and etched surfaces gives the specimen a refined, almost frozen aesthetic.
This example originates from the Pedra Azul (Fortaleza) area in the Vale do Jequitinhonha, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and comes from a collection assembled pre 2010 representing material from an earlier period of recovery in this well-known region.
