Barytocalcite
Rich colorless crystallized barytocalcite across the front of matrix. Good example for the species.Alston Moor in Cumbria, England, is a historic lead mining district that has been worked since at least Roman times and was one of the most important lead producing areas in Britain during the 18th and 19th centuries. The area contains numerous veins cutting Carboniferous limestone and sandstone and has produced many fine mineral specimens. One of the most notable minerals from the district is barytocalcite, a rare barium calcium carbonate first described from the locality in 1824. It typically occurs as pale yellow to colorless crystals in association with baryte, calcite, and galena.
