A superb example for the species, the specimen consists of a large grouping of well-formed crystals without matrix. This is in good condition. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video and would date to the early 20th century, if not earlier. These are large well-formed crystals for the species. Gadolinite in southern Norway is best known from pegmatites in the Setesdal area, particularly around the Evje and Iveland districts, which are famous for rare earth minerals and complex granitic pegmatites. These pegmatites have produced gadolinite associated with minerals such as quartz, feldspar, beryl, and other rare earth bearing species.
