Amazonite with cleavelandite and smoky quartz, 9.5 cm, from the Crystal Peak area, Teller County, Colorado. Collected in October 1987. The pocket was found by digging to the side of an exposed pegmatite in hopes of encountering a new cavity; crystals quickly appeared at grassroots level. The pocket contained nearly 500 pounds of crystals, requiring almost two days to collect.
