Andradite-almandine on muscovite, 8.8 cm, from Russell, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. These were found in the 1860 to 1880 period by Daniel Clarke and F. S. Johnson. The specimen is somewhat unusual in not having been treated with shoe polish to darken the faces, as was popular then.
