Grossular crystals with diopside, 11.4 cm, from the Jeffrey quarry, Asbestos, Québec. No repairs or restorations. This specimen was the 2020 Lidstrom Award winner. It is very similar in crystal size, crystal quality, matrix, and encrustation to the cover specimen of the Lithographie issue on “Garnet, Great Balls of Fire” (ExtraLapis Monograph No. 11). We think it is very likely that both specimens were originally part of a single larger plate. Ex Francesco Spertini collection; Spertini was the long-time company geologist at the mine.
