Spessartine on and included within smoky quartz, 17 cm, from the older workings at the Wushan spessartine mine, Tongbei, Fujian Province, China. Obtained directly from the mine owner’s family during an early visit to China in the early 2000s, having been mined by them some years before. Oldest Tongbei specimen in the collection.
