Morganite beryl, 7.5 cm, from near Araçuai, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The find predates the discovery of morganite at the famous Corrego do Urucum mine in 1973. Will Johnson collection (I had to trade Gene Meieran one of the world’s finest morganite crystals in order to get this specimen, a complete floater, for my Brazil collection); Tom Spann photo. Reference: Cassedanne (1986).
