      • Colors are generally stable in normal display lighting. Avoid prolonged direct, hot sunlight and heat sources; apophyllite can dehydrate and “flake” under heat (the name derives from “to flake off”).
      • Prevent thermal shock; maintain stable, moderate temperatures.
    • Cleaning:
      • Dust gently with a soft brush. For grime, use lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap; rinse and air-dry.
      • Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and steam; vibrations and heat can induce cleavage or pop crystals off matrix.
      • Use chemical cleaners cautiously—acids can damage matrix or loosen crystals. If removing iron stains (e.g., sodium dithionite solutions), test first and keep exposure minimal.
    • Storage and Display:
      • Provide padded supports; keep separate from harder minerals that might scratch. Secure in cases against vibrations.
