Pollucite (Rough and Cut set)

A significant example from a 2022-23 discovery of "etched" pollucite crystals in this famous gem pegmatite region of Pakistan. These strange, sharp growths are actually dissolution growths, meaning they formed as a crystal and then deformed even as they formed, around the same time (as was explained to me), rather than being somehow etched by corrosive forces later in a different environment. The pieces are starkly elegant, sparkling with all the little facets of angles we see, and so reflective that it is hard to focus, sometimes. It is colorless, but also seems to have a strong white color due to the play of light. Photos cannot convey this well, so please see the video. We regard this pocket or pocket zone as unique in the quality and size of this style of pollucite, which we have not seen before. Similar material had been found in Brazil, it is true - but much smaller and less impactful. As a bonus, this comes with a matching gem, a 4.62 ct gemstone: 1.3 x 0.7 x 0.5 cm.
