HYDROXYLHERDERITE$3,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Hydroxylherderite is a very rare calcium-beryllium phosphate and in this magnificent specimen forms an extremely large asymmetric octahedral crystal of opaque greyish-cream with an almost chalk-like texture and appearance. This primary crystal is certainly not gemmy, but its significance comes from its exceptionally well-formed geometric shape and staggering size - measuring approximately 7.2 x 4.7 x 3.4 cm. It is attached to a snow-white matrix of opaque to translucent Albite feldspar. Other, much smaller Hydroxylherderite crystals are scattered over the matrix, and this also occurs as micro-globular druses. A museum quality crystal of this rare species from the famous pegmatites at Barra do Salinas, Coronel Murta, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
