Carminite is a very rare lead iron arsenate hydroxide species which only ever forms small crystals. This very rich miniature specimen is a fine old-timer from the famous Ojuela mine in Mexico, as identified by its accompanying Eckert Mineral Research dealer label which dates it to between 1948 and 1963. Under magnification the slender acicular red Carminite crystals are seen to richly cover large parts of the upper display surface of this fine specimen.
