Gold on Quartz
Unknown Owner
A stunning, brilliantly sparkling gold from the largest modern crystallized gold find at the famous Eagle's Nest Mine, featuring a "bush" measuring 5 cm long and 4.8 cm wide perfectly perched on well exposed quartz matrix. The piece is exquisite, with the most refined crystallography everywhere you look. It is also complete all around, 360 degrees, front and back. The cluster is a single conjoined surface that looks machined in its precision, flat but sturdy and robust. It is one of the aesthetic best in size and price range. This spectacular pocket was hit on Valentine's Day of 2024 and took nearly a year to fully extract and prepare specimens. While the pocket produced a number of "killers" of high value, it was notable for the consistent quality spread across all size and price ranges, as reflected in these specimens offered at a relatively affordable price range for fine crystallized California gold. However, most preserved specimens were larger and there were not many available of true quality in this size.
