This is an exceptional combination specimen from the tin-iron deposits of Huanggang, featuring a single magnificent crystal of Ilvaite aesthetically presented at the center of a matrix covered in hundreds of needle-like Quartz points. The Ilvaite is immense, standing to a whopping 11.5 centimeters and complete all around with sharp lateral edges and a perfect chisel-shaped termination. The backdrop of greenish-grey Quartz crystals nicely accents the Ilvaite by giving a strong contrast to the central crystal's lustrous, jet-black color. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
