Great color and aesthetic: Microcline v. Amazonite, Quartz v. Smoky, Albite
The Smoky Hawk Claim, located on Crystal Peak in Teller county, Colorado is famous as the source of what are probably the world's best amazonite and smoky quartz specimens. The color of the amazonite, quality of the smoky quartz, and size/quality of the combinations really sets Smoky Hawk claim specimens apart, and only a few isolated finds such as this relatively new find from the „Foretel“ Pocket in 2016 can compare.
This is an outstandingly aesthetic specimen from this mine, with several sharp, lustrous, robin's egg striking blue-green colored Amazonite crystals perched next to one very gemmy smoky quartz crystal which is arranged in a "flower" cluster.
Look at these two natural grown rills on the amazonite. For the size, this has to be one of the most well-balanced and aesthetic amazonite and smoky quartz specimens out there. A true Colorado classic. Repaired: 1x, but that´s quite normal for this species.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity.
Location: From Smoky Hawk claim, Teller Co., Colorado, USA
Measures: 8,8 x 5,4 x 4.2 cm in total size.
