Description
This is a lovely small cabinet display Adamite from one of the most famous localities for this unusual zinc arsenate hydroxide species - Ojuela mine. Displaying a classic straw-yellow to pale lemon-yellow colour but with extremely glassy surfaces, the crystals are quite elongated compared to what is usually seen from this Mexican mine. This is undoubtedly older material, coming as it does from David Hardman's fine collection (no. 1920). The very glassy bladed crystals form delicate, but intact, radiating sprays on classic rusty Goethite gossan, producing a very attractive contrast. A very rich Mexican classic.
