Copper specimens showing well-formed, sizable crystals are fairly uncommon. This specimen exhibits these features with a distinct patina and stunning metallic luster intensifying its visual appeal. The Cliff Mine, the first successful copper mine in Copper Country, Michigan, opened in 1845 and closed its operations in the early 1900s. This piece has a significant amount of historical impact aside from its noteworthy characteristics as a fine mineral specimen.
