Alamosite
Alamosite is a rare lead silicate mineral with the best crystals having been found at Tsumeb mine in Namibia. This thumbnail specimen is richly invested with Alamosite, which forms colourless to cream coloured, glassy, prismatic crystals up to a few mm in length intergrown with a platy, or sectile, white to colourless lead-bearing mineral - possibly Leadhillite. The Alamosite crystals are mostly, by their intergrown nature, unterminated, but several do show a flat pinnacoid termination. A lovely small, but rich, matrix specimen of Alamosite.
