Description
Most collectors are more than familiar with the iron phosphate Ludlamite, but to have crystals set on a matrix of Pyrite is something else! An approximately 6 x 5 cm, 1.5 to 2.5 cm thick massive Pyrite matrix with included blocks of silver white Arsenopyrite is covered over its top surface by a thin layer of drusy dark buff Siderite micro-crystals. In the centre of these sit two crossed and interlocking deep apple green Ludlamite crystals, the longer measuring 3 cm. The Ludlamite is translucent and the crystals are double terminated, displaying sharp chisel-tipped terminations at opposite ends. The rare combination of Ludlamite contrasting against Siderite and metallic gold Pyrite is eye-catching and fascinating, making for a great display piece.
