Yaogangxian Mine, Yaogangxian W-Sn ore field, Yizhang Co., Chenzhou, Hunan, China 10.1 x 7.4 x 7.9 cm Formerly in the collection of Irv Brown. Fluorite on Wolframite combinations from the prolific Yaogangxian Mine have captivated the mineral community since they came out of the mine years ago. Production came to a screeching halt and these desirable combinations seemed to disappear. This exquisite example exhibits substantially larger Wolframite crystals with exceptional luster, and bright blue-purple colored Fluorite crystals that have ideal luster and clarity. This piece was formerly in the collection of Irv Brown.
