Glossy spherical Clinoclase crystals of the variety once termed by the Cornish as "Beetle-ore" are the most desirable form of this already rare copper arsenate species. Spheres, or hemispheres over 1 cm in diameter are extremely rare from all of the known localities. This super large miniature specimen from Mammoth mine, Utah, USA bears a beautiful lustrous Clinoclase hemisphere measuring 1 cm in diameter. Sat upon a sparkling royal blue crystal druse of Azurite really accentuates the quality of this immaculate Clinoclase crystal. Tyrolite is also present, but mostly replaced by porcellaneous blue-green Chrysocolla on a Quartz-rich matrix. The specimen comes with a lovely old U.S. National Museum handwritten label. This really is a top quality Clinoclase.
